In Three Card Poker, you play directly against the dealer, rather than other players, so your goal is to beat the dealer with a better three-card hand.
The game is played with a standard 52-card deck, with cards shuffled between game rounds. Card rankings are in standard order, and aces can be high or low.
You start by placing your ante bet to buy your way into the game. You also have the choice to play the optional Pair Plus or 6 Card Bonus bets, which are discussed further below.
When the allocated betting time is up, the dealer will deal out three cards to you and three to themselves, but the dealer’s cards will be placed face down. Analyse your cards, and if you feel your hand is strong enough, you can click PLAY to proceed. Alternatively, you can hit FOLD to surrender your ante bet and end the game.
The outcomes in Three Card Poker are slightly different from regular poker because you are playing against the dealer, who must have at least a queen or higher to qualify. In the table below, you can see a quick snapshot of the possible game outcomes for each round:
Result | Ante | Play |
Dealer does not qualify, and you win | 1:1 | Push |
Dealer qualifies, and you win | 1:1 | 1:1 |
Dealer qualifies, and you lose | Lose | Lose |
Dealer qualifies, and you tie | Push | Push |
Player folds | Lose | N/A |
If you place a play bet and get a straight flush, three of a kind, or straight on your initial three cards, you win the ante bonus according to the pay table, even if the dealer wins the round.
Hand | Payout |
Straight flush or higher | 5:1 |
Three of a kind | 4:1 |
Straight | 1:1 |
In addition to the main bet, you can play two bonus bets whose outcomes are independent of the main ante bet. The Pair Plus bet relies solely on what’s in your hand, whereas the 6 Card Bonus relies on what’s in yours and the dealer’s hands, as discussed below:
The Pair Plus bet allows you to win solely based on the strength of what’s in your hand, regardless of whether your hand is stronger than the dealer’s in the main bet, or even if you fold the main bet. Payouts for the various winning hands are as follows:
Hand | Configuration | Payout |
Mini Royal | Suited ace, king, and queen | 100:1 |
Straight Flush | Suited three-card sequence | 40:1 |
Three of a Kind | Three cards of the same rank | 30:1 |
Straight | Three cards in sequence of any suit | 5:1 |
Flush | Three cards of the same suit in any sequence | 4:1 |
Pair | Two cards of the same rank | 1:1 |
If you place a 6 Card bonus bet, you win if your three cards plus the dealer’s three cards make a five-card poker hand of three of a kind or better. You will win a payout as per the paytable below, even if you lose the main bet or fold, and the dealer wins the round.
Hand | Configuration | Payout |
Royal Flush | Suited ace, king, queen, jack, ten | 1000:1 |
Straight Flush | Suited five-card sequence | 200:1 |
Four of a Kind | Four cards of the same rank | 100:1 |
Full House | Three cards of the same rank and two of the same rank | 20:1 |
Flush | Five suited cards in any sequence | 15:1 |
Straight | Five cards in sequence of any suit | 10:1 |
Three of a Kind | Three cards of the same rank | 7:1 |
