The 2024/25 League One season has been memorable for American-owned Birmingham City, who won the title at a canter, securing 95 points from the first 40 matches to win the league.  

Though they lost in the EFL Trophy final to Peterborough, the Blues will look at this as a hugely successful season. They will probably be among the favourites to gain promotion from the Championship next year. 

Wrexham, the other team with famous American owners, look set to join Champions Birmingham in the Championship next year, but Wycombe Wanderers, Stockport County, and Charlton Athletic may all have something to say in the final promotion push.
