Arsenal failed to claim a fourth English Premier League title, having finished second for the third consecutive season. Although Arsenal were the strongest team in the league defensively, conceding only 34 goals, they lacked an attacking threat. Liverpool outscored them by seventeen goals, and no Arsenal player reached double figures in league goals.
Arsenal haven’t won a major trophy since the 2020 FA Cup, and this trend continued throughout the 2024/2025 season. They lost to Newcastle in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup and were knocked out by Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup via a penalty shootout.
Despite not claiming any silverware, Arsenal had an impressive UEFA Champions League campaign. They knocked Real Madrid out in the quarter-finals, which saw the Gunners into their first semi-final since the 2008/09 season. Ultimately, they lost to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain, but Arsenal fans saw much to be happy with on the European stage.
With Arteta entering his sixth season as Arsenal Manager, fans are beginning to question whether he is bringing in enough talent for the club to become true title contenders, especially in the attacking third, where the Gunners struggled with injuries last season.
However, going into the 2025/26 season, Arteta is eyeing a big-money move for a top striker to join the club. Arsenal spent over £75 million on new talent in the first few months of the summer, so there will be plenty of new faces at the Emirates to impress supporters.
After such a significant summer investment and with some exciting names arriving in North London, Arsenal will certainly be a team to watch as potential winners of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Arsenal will also be looking to build on their Champions League success in the hopes of being crowned champions of Europe, and we have them priced at 8/1* at Betano.
