Ipswich Town Betting & Odds

Ipswich Town get the 2025/26 EFL Championship season underway as the pre-season favourites for the title. They’re also the favourites for promotion via their league finish or the playoffs. You can explore Ipswich’s latest outright Championship odds here, which are subject to change.

While we’re confident that Ipswich won’t be dragged into a relegation battle, some teams fail to adapt back to life at this level after a quick stay in the Premier League. Just look at Luton Town, who will play the 2025/26 season in League One. If you think McKenna’s troops are in danger of relegation, this is another outright market you can access.

You may also fancy an Ipswich Town player to end the 2025/26 season as the EFL Championship top scorer. Though they lost Liam Delap in the summer, Ipswich have Sammie Szmodics, who ended the 2023/24 season as the top scorer, so he could help fire the Tractor Boys to promotion this season.

Ipswich Town EFL Championship Odds

Ipswich Town surprised most football fans in the 2023/24 season by securing automatic promotion from the English Championship under the noses of much-fancied Leeds United. But anyone who has kept tabs on the Tractor Boys' progress under Kieran McKenna was less surprised to see Ipswich secure back-to-back promotions.

However, despite some impressive performances and victories, Ipswich didn’t quite have enough to stay in the Premier League last season.

McKenna is still at the helm, and Ipswich have reshuffled the pack as they look to bounce back this year. Explore Ipswich Town odds and betting options at Betano Sportsbook and bet on how you think they will perform throughout this campaign.

Ipswich Town 2024/25 Performance Review

Ipswich only managed four victories in the 2024/25 Premier League season, which shows their struggles in the top flight. Impressively, two of these victories came against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, so on their day, they could beat anyone.

They also drew ten fixtures, so if they had turned some of these into wins, they would have had a fighting chance of surviving. However, their run of four draws in their first six games turned out to be particularly damaging, and Ipswich had to wait until November 10th to register their first Premier League victory.

Liam Delap was the team’s standout performer, scoring 12 goals and catching the eye of many big teams. With a £30 million release clause in his contract, it was no surprise that Chelsea came calling, and Ipswich were forced to cash in on their star man.

Still, it gave McKenna even more money to play with, alongside the relegation parachute payments, meaning that Ipswich are in a healthy position in the 2025/26 Championship season.

Omari Hutchinson, Sammie Szmodics, George Hirst, and Dara O’Shea will be crucial to Ipswich’s rebuild in the EFL Championship this season. They have all shown that they have what it takes to succeed in the second tier and will be keen to secure promotion back to the English Premier League at the first time of asking.

Ipswich Town Transfer News

It’s never easy to rebuild a squad after relegation, and Ipswich lost their top goal scorer at the start of the summer transfer window, with Delap heading to Chelsea.

Axel Tuanzebe, Cameron Burgess, Marcus Harness, and Massimo Luongo all left on free transfers, while Julio Enciso, Kalvin Phillips, Jens Cajuste, and Ben Godfrey all returned to their parent clubs after loan spells at Portman Road.

At the time of writing, Ipswich have completed three pieces of business. They added experienced goalkeeper David Button, who arrived on a free transfer from Reading and will combine squad status with coaching.

Town also made two impressive outfield signings: Dutch midfielder Azor Matusiwa from Rennes and central defender Cedric Kipre, who is on loan from Reims.

With McKenna able to keep much of his Premier League squad together and with some more new arrivals imminent, Ipswich fans will be quietly confident of a productive season in the EFL Championship. Below is an overview of the main incomings and outgoings at Portman Road in recent windows.

Main Incomings

  • David Button (Reading)
  • Azor Matusiwa (Rennes)
  • Cedric Kipre (Reims)

Main Outgoings

  • Liam Delap (Chelsea)
  • Axel Tuanzebe (Burnley)
  • Cameron Burgess (Swansea City)
  • Marcus Harness (Huddersfield Town)
  • Massimo Luongo (Released)
