Liverpool Odds

Liverpool surpassed all expectations in the 2024/25 Premier League season, winning the title by ten points in Arne Slot’s first season in the Anfield dugout.

Despite their success in the league, Liverpool lacked the squad depth to excel in other tournaments, losing out in the Champions League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup.

Slot addressed this in the summer of 2025, spending big on players like Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, who will undoubtedly help Liverpool mount another title challenge in the 2025/26 season.

Liverpool 2024/25 Performance Review

Liverpool had a brilliant English Premier League campaign in 2024/25, winning their second Premier League title in Arne Slot’s first season in charge. Though Arsenal finished second, the Gunners never really challenged Liverpool, with the Reds finishing 10 points clear at the top of the pile, despite only winning one of their last five games.

As brilliant as Liverpool were in the league last year, the Premier League was their only trophy. They exited the UEFA Champions League early and lost the EFL Cup final to Newcastle United. They were also subjected to a humiliating FA Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle, so Arne Slot has seen the need to bolster his squad to compete on numerous fronts in 2025/26.

Many fans were a little worried when Slot came in and didn’t add lots of new signings, but he did a superb job of getting the best out of the talented squad that Jurgen Klopp had assembled over the years at Anfield. However, going into the 2025/26 campaign, Liverpool have been extremely busy in the transfer market, spending over £200 million on new talent.

Moreover, despite saying goodbye to long-time favourite Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Reds secured new contracts for Mo Salah and Virgil, undoubtedly the club’s two most important players.

So, given that Liverpool have strengthened significantly after their title win, it will be tough for Manchester City, Arsenal, and the rest of the chasing pack to catch them next season. We expect them to win the 2025/26 Premier League title, and they will likely do much better in the UEFA Champions League this time around.

Liverpool Transfer News

The English Premier League champions have been linked with many names since securing their second title, none more so than Alexander Isak, who may still swap Tyneside for Merseyside before the transfer window closes.

Earlier in the summer, Liverpool spent over £150 million to bring two of Bayer Leverkusen’s best players to Anfield – Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.

Wirtz is particularly exciting, as the German is one of the most talented forward players in world football. Liverpool moved quickly to secure his services, and he will be a key man for the Reds for the next few seasons.

Milos Kerkez arrived from Bournemouth in another significant transfer, bolstering Liverpool’s strength in depth at the back.

Liverpool also bought in three new goalkeepers at the start of the 2025/26 season: Giorgi Mamardashvili, Ármin Pécsi, and Freddie Woodman. Allison will likely retain the number one jersey, but Mamardashvili is a talented shot stopper who will surely feature for the Reds in some of their matches throughout the campaign.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure from Anfield was confirmed at the end of last season, with the boyhood Liverpool fan heading to Real Madrid to play for Xabi Alonso. Number two goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher also left Merseyside, joining Brentford to serve as their new number one to replace the outgoing Mark Flekken.

Here’s an overview of the main ins and outs at Anfield during the first transfer window of the 2025/26 season:
