Six Nations 2027 Winner Odds

Who is going to win the 2027 Six Nations? Most people can’t look past France, but Ireland, Scotland, and maybe even the much-improved Italy are in with a shout. Let’s look at the current Six Nations winner odds and how each team is shaping up ahead of the 2027 tournament: 

France

France won their 20th Six Nations crown in 2026, finishing top of the pile with 21 points from their five matches, two points ahead of Ireland. They had a remarkable end to the tournament, edging England 48-46 in the final game with a last-minute kick from top scorer Thomas Ramos.  

But the decisive fixture turned out to be the opener, with France defeating Ireland 36-14 in Paris, in a victory that set the tone for the rest of the tournament.  

The French play three Nations Championship matches against Fiji, South Africa, and Argentina in November 2026, which could be ideal preparation as they look to defend their Six Nations title and prepare for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.  

Ireland

Many rugby fans had Ireland as the team to watch in 2026, and they put on a good display, finishing second. The Irish secured the Triple Crown for the 15th time in the 2026 tournament by defeating England, Scotland, and Wales.  

Other than against France, Ireland were impressive throughout, particularly in their 42-21 win at Twickenham, which was their biggest ever winning margin in England. 

Stuart McCloskey was imperious for Ireland throughout the tournament, while Tadhg Beirne and Caelan Doris also put in several impressive displays.  

In 2027, Ireland will hope to wrestle the title back from France. These two are now the dominant forces in European rugby, having won the last five Six Nations titles between them. 

England

England finished just one point behind France in the 2025 Six Nations, but they were well short of their best in 2026, finishing in fifth place, their worst position since the championship became the Six Nations in 2000.  

The only game England won was against Wales, in a straightforward 48-7 dismantling at Twickenham. But this triumph delivered false hope to England fans, and things went spectacularly downhill from here.  

They lost the Calcutta Cup to Scotland in the next match, before that home humbling against Ireland in round three. England then lost to Italy in Rome in round four, marking their first-ever defeat against the Italians after 32 consecutive wins.  

Significant changes are expected within England Rugby in the lead-up to 2027, and they will need to be so much better in the next Six Nations if they have any chance of winning the biggest prize in the sport later in the year. 

Scotland

Scotland were the best of the rest in the 2025 Six Nations, finishing with 11 points. They bettered this record in 2026, ending the tournament with 16 points, thanks to three impressive victories.  

They were excellent in the Calcutta Cup against England and even better in their all-time-classic 50-40 win over France at Murrayfield. The 90 points scored were the highest combined in a fixture between the two nations, and Scotland’s 50 points were the most they’ve ever managed in a match against the French.  

Scotland’s defeat to Ireland in Dublin was emphatic, and they’ll look back on their loss in Rome as something they need to improve on. Still, the Scots are in a good place right now, and Gregor Townsend will be keen to show what his team is capable of in the 2027 Six Nations and World Cup. 

Wales

Wales had another Six Nations to forget in 2026, being handed the Wooden Spoon as they finished bottom of the pile with six points. Their only victory in the tournament came in their 31-17 triumph over Italy in Cardiff.  

Welsh rugby needs a renaissance, and they’re a long way off the team of 2021 that handsomely won the Six Nations and the Triple Crown.  

Italy

Italy have avoided the Wooden Spoon in the last three seasons, after being handed eight in a row between 2016 and 2023. The Italians matched their best-ever Six Nations finish by ending in fourth place in 2026, a feat they previously achieved in 2007 and 2013.  

This was also the closest Italy have ever come to winning more than two matches in a single Six Nations campaign. Their tightly fought game against the Irish, which they lost 20-13, really could have gone either way.  

No longer the whipping boys of European rugby, Italy will look to build on this impressive showing and finish fourth or higher again in 2027.
