The wild is the face of a golden phoenix bathed in flames. Not only does it substitute for all symbols, but it’s also the game’s highest-paying symbol.
Next in line are the four elemental phoenixes - fire, ice, earth, and wind. The low-paying symbols are the card suites - hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds.
Secrets of the Phoenix symbols offer wins in coins, where the total bet is 20x coin size. This is the paytable for the game, with a coin size of £1.00:

The four elemental phoenixes can award different modifiers during the Elemental Phoenix bonus round, and there’s the chance to win additional free spins during the free spins round, as detailed below:
To the right of the reels is the symbols meter. When symbols are involved in a win, they are added to the meter. If a wild is involved in more than one win, it’s only counted once.
A section of the meter is filled when 20 symbols are collected. There are five sections in all. If four sections are collected, the Elemental Phoenix feature will be triggered, and if five sections are completed, the free spins round will be triggered.
There are four bonus rounds to the Elemental Phoenix feature: Fire Strike, Ice Blast, Earth Rupture, and Wind Surge:
The fire phoenix will appear in this feature, and up to four wild stacks will be created. The stacks will be between two and four symbols high.
The ice phoenix will create up to four frozen wilds when this feature is triggered. The wilds will stay on the reels for two wins and then explode.
In this feature, the earth phoenix creates up to four giant symbols, each up to four symbols in size. The giant symbols then break up into smaller matching symbols.
Matching symbols on the reels will be blown away by the wind phoenix, leaving the remaining matching symbols behind.
You’ll need to reach the fifth level on the symbols meter to trigger the free spins round, which means that 100 symbols have been collected.
The first part of the round is a pick game, where you need to pick an egg to determine the number of free spins you’ll be awarded.
The symbols meter will start with five winning symbols collected, making the Elemental Phoenix feature easier to trigger.
Phoenixes award multipliers in the free spins round. They can also award additional free spins. Collecting 100 symbols during the round will award more free spins.
